Cellulite. It’s a word we don’t like to hear—or think about for that matter.
Let’s face it; we all hate the idea of cellulite. There are more creams and potions and treatments out there than I care to count. So what do we know about cellulite and how do we get rid of it? Heather Hunt, esthetician at Solutions has the info you need.
Are you suffering with excess baggage, cellulite, dehydrated dull-looking skin, lack of tone and firmness? You are not alone! Most of us (no matter our size) suffer from some form of cellulite. Most of us are also at a loss when it comes to dealing with these issues also. There is hope! In my research, I have found that with a combination of internal and external care, these symptoms can be reduced.
One of the most important things to consider, is keeping your skin properly exfoliated and hydrated. Two ingredients to look for are alpha hydroxyl acids, which help exfoliate the skin and stimulate collagen production, and retinols, which increase skin cell turnover revealing healthier skin. Body lotions that contain these stimulants (we like Eminence Organic Cinnamon Paprika lotion) act to increase blood flow, which in turn revitalizes and firms the area. Moisturizing your skin is one of the easiest ways to improve the look of cellulite-laden areas.
Diet can also play a huge part in combatting cellulite. Back to moisture, drinking the recommended 8-10 glasses of water is imperative. Maintaining a diet full of fresh, not processed foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals can be beneficial. Vitamin A, B complex, C and E, omega 3s, biotine, kelp, flaxseed, gotu kola extract, and horse chesnut extract art just a few that have been shown to improve the overall health of skin and reduce cellulite. Most importantly, studies have shown that getting your body moving everyday is vital.
We do offer several treatments at Solutions that can aid in cellulite reduction.
Herbal Inch Loss WrapThe solutions of aloe vera and natural USA herbs combine to be absorbed into layers of the skin. Clients are asked to drink 3-4 liters of water during the 24 hours following the body wrap treatment. The water acts to flush the lymphatic system as the client continues to drink the same amount of water over the 3 days following the treatment. Average inch loss from this wrap is 5-10 inches.
Slimming & Cellulite WrapsThese organic body wraps exfoliate dead skin, increase hydration, tighten, tone, revitalize, energizes to remove unwanted toxins, and increases oxygen to the skin for better penetration of the nutritive, firming antioxidants which combat free radical damage causing skin to age and breakdown.
Smooth SculptingSmoothSculpt™ focuses on the treatment of Extra Cellular Matrix, (ECM) which is a FILTER SYSTEM that sits between blood vessels, nerves and cells. Over time, cellular debris and toxins accumulate and create skin dibbles or cellulite. The treatment is administered by a trained and certified esthetician, who will use a cupping wand which utilizes pressure (pulsing) and suction movement to stimulate the skin. This action will promote lymphatic drainage; relieve lymphatic blockage and stagnation of ECM. This will also help cleanse the ECM, support blood flow and collagen stimulation to plump and firm the skin. The science behind the SmoothSculpt™ treatment is to unclog the stagnation and congestion, while breaking down fat and reducing the appearance of cellulite with the pulsing and suction effects. The treatment is chemical free, there are no injections, no down time and there are noticeable results from the first treatment.
So the bottom line is that even though the cause of cellulite is still up for debate, there are plenty of easy things you can do to help reduce the cellulite you have. For more information on any of the treatments or suggestions above, call 453-3617.
